Bethlehem Liturgical Choir
Welcome to the Bethlehem High School Liturgical Choir page. Bethlehem High School Liturgical Choir, under the direction of Sylvia Hamilton, is open to all students in grades nine through twelve. Rehearsals for choir are held during the lunch/activity periods on Mondays and Tuesdays. The choir performs at all school liturgies throughout the school year. Students who are parishioners of the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral are responsible for one Sunday Liturgy each month. This is usually the fourth Sunday (Saturday) at the 5:00 pm Mass.
Choir is an exciting way to enjoy the art of music with the added fun of socializing with people who share that same passion. If you love to sing and make music, this is the place for you. The music we sing is a blend of contemporary, folk, gospel, and traditional styles. We offer opportunities for accompanying, cantoring and soloing in a relaxed and professional style.
Bethlehem High School Liturgical Choir exists so that students may honor God, practice stewardship, and develop musical skills with their ability to sing. Singing together as a group develops responsible behavior and nurtures communication skills. Music instills self-discipline and trains the mind, especially the ear.
Our school has a rich treasure of talented teenagers. Please come and join us in one of our many performances throughout the school year. We promise to elevate your soul with our heavenly sound.
