HISTORY AND APPRECIATION OF THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
(1 semester, 1/2 credit, 3 pts.)
Grade: 10, 11, 12
Humanities is teh field of integrated disciplines that explores and strives to understand human reality. Such disciplines include history, literature, philosophy, religion as well as the visual and performing arts. Students will become familiar with the different forms of art that exist as well as their evolution in a human perspective.

THEATRE ARTS, IMPROVISATION AND ACTING
(1 semester, 1/2 credit, 3 pts.)
Grade: 10, 11, 12
Emphasis will be on theatre games, improvisation, movement, voice/diction, and acting techniques. In-class performance will be required of all students. All students will be expected to actively participate in the fall production either as an actor or as a member of the technical crew (set, props, costuming, sound, lighting, or publicity).

THEATRE ARTS, PLAY PRODUCTION
(1 semester, 1/2 credit, 3 pts.)
Grade: 10, 11, 12
The emphasis will be on theatre history, script analysis, play production and the role of actors, directors, designers, and the playwright. Different genres will be explored including musicals, mysteries, comedies and dramas. All students will be expected to actively participate in the spring production either as an actor or as a member of the technical crew (set, props, costuming, sound, lighting, or publicity.)

CHOIR
(May take for up to 4 years, 1/4 credit)
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
Choir is held twice a week during the homeroom period. Students will sing at school liturgies and other functions.
