FRENCH I

Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
This course is designed to teach efficient communication skills that enable every student to engage in basic day to day conversations in French. This course also broadens the students' awareness of the world in which they live and asserts their confidence in interpersonal exchange. Emphasis is placed on four basic communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
FRENCH II
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: French I
An intermediate level course which expands the students' communication skills developed in the first year of studying the language. it also further explores aspects of the French culture.
FRENCH III
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 11, 12
Prerequisite: French II
This course reinforces acquired grammar and develops new vocabulary through a variety of communication activities based on everyday situations. Departmental approval required.
FRENCH IV
2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grade: 12
Prerequisite: French III
This course provides an opportunity to perfect communication skills by a variety of methods built around a closer study of French literature and history. Departmental approval required.
SPANISH I
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
This course introduces students to Hispanic culture and initiates the development of the four basic communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing the Spanish language.
SPANISH II
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Spanish I
