Susan Simpson The Sister Mary Rachel Rooks Library Media Center at Bethlehem High School seeks to serve both students and teachers. The mission of the library program is “to provide resources and to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.”
 
Library Hours:
  8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
  8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday and Friday
 

Student Use
We encourage students to use the library before and after school to check out or return books or for library, card catalog, or Internet research. The library is also open to students during lunch, study hall, and activity period. Magazines and newspapers are available for browsing.

Computer Use
The library has ten computers and a laser printer, allowing access to the Internet and the card catalog as well as word processing and printing. Students and teachers now have access to the Library Card Catalog from all school computers.

Teachers and students now have access to two educator approved websites through subscriptions to NetTrekker d.i. and Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL).
 
KYVL provides over 30 databases for articles in magazines, journals, newspapers, encyclopedias, biographies, books, and more. Click here to access KYVL.

Books

Teacher Use
Teachers use the library to enhance curriculum and to collaborate on class projects for their students. Classes are scheduled into the library for research and special projects. Teachers collaborate with the librarian in developing projects for their students when library resources are needed. Students are given instruction and updates on how to use the library resources by Mrs. Simpson.

Students can access the library’s list of Accelerated Reader books through this website as well as other library links.

 

Other Services
The Bethlehem library provides a pleasant atmosphere for varied meetings, luncheons, conferences, review sessions and tutoring.

Currently, professional development sessions are conducted in the library every Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Simpson now directs the Bethlehem Today Show in the Library with a staff of Student Council Members. This show is followed by the airing of Channel One. Librarian Susan Simpson and library assistant Patsy Collins welcome you!
