Mathematics
ALGEBRA I
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 Pts.)

Students will study algebraic concepts and methods with an on-going emphasis on critical thinking skills and real-life application. the course is designed to meet high curriculum standards for student success on college entrance exams as well as all future studies in mathematics. Topics include operations of real numbers, solving, graphing, and analyzing linear equations and inequalities, operations of polynominal expressions, factoring, and properties of exponents.
ALGEBRA II
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 9, 10
Prerequisite: successful completion of Algebra I
Students will study algebraic concepts and methods with an on-going emphasis on critical thinking skills and real-life applications. The course is designed to meet high curriculum standards for student success on college entrance exams and AP as well as all future studies in mathematics. Topics include solving systems of equations, properties of functions (linear, quadratic, polynominal, rational, exponential, and logarithmic), matrices, complex numbers and graphical approaches to algebra.
GEOMETRY
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 3 pts.)
Grades: 9, 10, 11
Prerequisite: Algebra I
Sudents will explore geometric concepts with emphasis on critical thinking and real-life applications. The course is designed to meet high curriculum standards for student success on college entrance exams as well as all future studies in mathematics. Topics will include inductive and decductive reasoning, points, lines, planes, angles, triangles, plygons, similarity and congruence, circles, three dimensional geometry, area, volume, and coordinate geometry.
PRE-CALCULUS
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 4 pts.)
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Algebra II and Geometry
This course is intended for students who plan to take Advanced Placement calculus. It includes topics of Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry and integrates additional work with other functions including exponential and logarithmic functions.
COLLEGE LEVEL ALGEBRA

This is a college course offered in partnership with St. Catharine College. This course is designed to teach students reasoning and modeling strategies in solving real-world problems. Students will study a wide range of concepts and techniques designed to strengthen these problem solving skills. Careful attention will be given to national curriculum standards and state assessment objectives.
COLLEGE LEVEL TRIGONOMETRY

This is a college course offered in partnership with St. Catharine College. Trigonometric identities, laws of sines and cosines, vectors, complex numbers, conic sections, and polar coordinates are explored.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT CALCULUS AB
(2 semesters, 1 credit, 5 pts.)

Prerequisite: Algebra II, Geometry and Teacher Recommendation
This course is designed to teach students reasoning and modeling with strategies in solving real-world problems of a college level calculus course. Students will study a wide range of concepts and techniques designed to strengthen these problem solving skills. Students will be expected to take the College Board AP exam which may result in college credit.
