Student Life: Students For Life
To inspire and grow what our Holy Fathers have called the “Culture of Life” by promoting awareness of Pro-life issues both here in our community at Bethlehem High school and in the broader community of Bardstown. We will achieve this through Pro-life education, volunteer services and positive, Christian community action.
Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, Bethlehem Students for Life is the first Pro-life organization of any kind formed at Bethlehem High School.
Bethlehem Students for Life was formed in September of 2009 by students inspired by the teachings of our Holy Fathers Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI concerning the “Culture of Life.” They were also inspired by the political action they witnessed at the March for Life in Washington D.C.
These students have a zeal for the uncompromising message of the Catholic Church: that human life has inherent dignity from the moment of conception until natural death, and it must be fostered and protected.
This group was student instigated and all activities are student planned, organized and run. The teachers involved serve as advisors and volunteer workers. Currently the group consists of 15 core leaders, 39 official due-paying members, and almost 15 more students who volunteer to help on various activities, making this one of the most successful start-up clubs at Bethlehem High School.
