Athletics: Softball

The Bethlehem softball program competes at the freshman and varsity levels. Practice begins in February and games are played through the end of May with the state tournament being played in early June. Softball is played at Bethlehem's Lally field complex located near St. Monica's church on South Third Street. All interested females are invited to practice. Contact Shaun Smith at

Head Coach Shaun Smith

Coach Smith is entering his sixth year as head coach for the girls softball team, coming off a very successful  seasons. He has a total of ten years coaching experience from Babe Ruth leagues in Okolona, KY, to the high school ranks. He is a former assistant coach at Bullitt Central High School and was the founder and manager of Louisville MASH fast pitch softball travel teams for seven years.

In his years as coach, Shaun has been blessed to be a part of numerous great players that he has had the honor of helping them take their games to the college level, ranging from NAIA to Division 1. He hopes to build a very successful program here at Bethlehem. The team captured the district title in his first year at Bethlehem, the first in Bethlehem history.

Coach Smith graduated from Bullitt Central High School in 1997. He is married to Denada, and they have two children, Ellie and Brandi. His assistants  are  Richie Robbins, Kira Figg  and Alex Newton.
