We held our very first trap shooting practice last night, and it was a great start to an exciting new program! The focus of the evening was on safety and proper procedures, making sure every participant understands the importance of responsibility and awareness in the sport. Thirteen students were present and eager to learn, setting a strong foundation for the future. We are excited to see this program grow and look forward to many successful practices ahead!

Our community at Bethlehem High School gathered for a beautiful and meaningful Ash Wednesday Mass, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. It was a special time of prayer, reflection, and coming together in faith as we prepare our hearts for this sacred journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to begin Lent as a school community and look forward to this season of growth, renewal, and reflection. ✝️

Today, our Bethlehem community came together to begin the Lenten season in prayer and reflection. Our day started with a schoolwide opening prayer and continued this afternoon with Ash Wednesday Mass celebrated with our entire student body, faculty, and staff.

Ash Wednesday reminds us of the call to renewal, humility, and growth as we journey toward Easter. We are grateful for the opportunity to pause together as a school family and center our hearts on faith, service, and purpose during this holy season.

May this Lenten journey be one of prayer, sacrifice, and compassion for our entire Bethlehem community.

In Mrs. McGill’s digital photography class, students are exploring the art of portrait photography and how lighting can dramatically shape mood, depth, and expression. They are learning to create a variety of shadow effects using professional lighting techniques, including Rembrandt, loop, split, broad, and butterfly lighting. Through hands-on practice, students are discovering how subtle changes in light placement can transform a portrait, helping them build technical skills while developing a stronger artistic eye for composition and storytelling.

We are excited to welcome Rachel Daugherty to Bethlehem High School as our new Mathematics Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year! 📐✏️

With over two decades of experience inspiring students to discover the beauty of mathematics, Rachel brings both deep expertise and a passion for faith-based education to our classrooms. She has taught a wide range of courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, ACT/SAT Prep, and GED instruction, across middle school, high school, and college levels.

Rachel views mathematics as a reflection of God’s order and creativity, encouraging students to see the connection between mathematical truth and God’s creation. ✨

She earned her undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University and holds Master’s degrees from Spalding University and the University of the Cumberlands. 🎓

Rachel also has a special connection to Bethlehem. She is the daughter of a 1964 Bethlehem graduate and the proud mother of a 2020 alumnus, and she deeply values the role Bethlehem has played in strengthening her family’s faith. 💙

We are excited to celebrate the 2026 Basketball Homecoming Court at Bethlehem High School! Representing the freshman class are Makaela Chesser and Leigh Talbott Smith (not pictured). We are excited to share some wonderful news about the future of our students! 🎉

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, we are proud to announce that Mary Beth Childers will serve as our new College & Career Counselor, following the legendary Mrs. Rita Koontz. We are incredibly grateful for Mrs. Koontz’s years of dedicated service and the lasting impact she has made on generations of Bethlehem students. 💙

Even more special, Mary Beth is a Bethlehem alum! A member of the Class of 2015, she has been teaching English at Bethlehem for the past two years and is passionate about continuing to serve the school she calls home. 🏫

Mary Beth is a two-time graduate of Western Kentucky University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2019 and her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, with a focus in College and Career Readiness, in 2022. 🎓 Prior to returning to Bethlehem, she worked for four years as an Admissions Counselor at WKU, helping students discover and achieve their postsecondary goals.

We are thrilled to have an alumna leading this incredibly important role and know that Mary Beth’s experience, heart for students, and love for Bethlehem will make a tremendous impact. ✨
