The Kentucky 4-H Issues Conference began in 1989 to give teen 4-H members the opportunity to learn the process of identifying and addressing local issues. 4-H members select an issue and research the issue before coming to the conference. While at the conference, 4-H’ers are given the opportunity to share their ideas and collaborate with other 4-H’ers from around the state. Adult facilitators work with 4-H’ers leading them in the process of preparing a simulated presentation to a community board. County teams are given the opportunity to submit a mini-grant proposal following the conference addressing an identified local issue.

This year it is held November 15-18 at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Leadership Center.

The cost is $215, but scholarship funding may be available.

It was a full house in church today as we celebrated our annual Mass with grandparents. Fr. Jason Harris encouraged students to listen to their grandparent's stories of love, mercy and sacrifice because their story mirrors Jesus' story. Mass ended with students saying a blessing over their grandparents and grandparents blessing their students. We also remembered those grandparents who are no longer with us.

The Banshees celebrated their seniors at their home game last night against Thomas Nelson. The Banshees won 10-0. Salute to Carly Beam, Miranda Blanford, Madie Sparks, Jordan Cross and Abigail Proctor for four fabulous years. Thanks for the kicks.

The golf seniors, Kyle Druin, Seth Hall and Will Taylor were recognized last night. Tonight, we celebrate the girls soccer seniors.

Our soccer Banshees (ranked #3 in the state) tied # 2 Assumption tonight in a nail biter! Please come out and support these girls on Wednesday at 6 PM for Senior Night and on Saturday in Frankfort as they compete in the Class A State Tournament.

Make sure to watch senior Faith Oakley's acceptance speech from last night's WISH banquet. Faith received the Courage Award at the Women in Sports event. She was also surprised with a $2,000 scholarship.
