Congratulations!
Congratulations to junior Caroline Mattingly who has been selected as a 2024 Military Child of the Year semifinalist! This prestigious award celebrating the remarkable achievements, character, and contribution of military children is given by Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that works to build strong, stable, and secure military families. Over 700 military children across the country were nominated for this award, and 105 were selected to move on as semifinalists. The Military Child of the Year Award serves as a lifelong source of pride for the recipients and offers them unparalleled opportunities to connect with senior military leaders, celebrities, and most importantly, peers who understand the obstacles of growing up within a military family. The seven finalists for this award will be selected in March. While at Bethlehem, Caroline has been a member of the volleyball and basketball teams, a Student Ambassador, a member of the National Honor Society, an inaugural member of the Purple Star Committee, has held numerous leadership positions in several clubs on campus, and continues to excel in the classroom. Caroline’s father, COL Steve Mattingly, Commander of the 138th Field Artillery Brigade is currently deployed to Southwest Asia where they are serving as the Force Field Artillery Headquarters for the U.S. Army Central Command.
