Please join us in welcoming Ms. Yila Royalty to our faculty and staff as a Spanish teacher for the 2024/2025 school year! Ms. Royalty brings a wealth of experience and passion for education to our team, and we are excited to have her join us. Her dedication to student success and innovative teaching methods will undoubtedly enrich our school community. Ms. Royalty is in her 36th year as a teacher in the public school sector. She is so excited about starting a new school year at Bethlehem High School. Ms. Royalty was born in Panama, but grew up in Puerto RIco, and has been living in Bardstown for the last 31 years. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and PE, has a Master's degree from EKU, and a Spanish attachment from UNC at Chapel Hill. She loves to travel, scuba dive, read, paint and cook. She has a daughter who also lives in Bardstown and a boxer as her pet. One of her favorite quotes is by Frank Smith which discusses the importance of a second language. It says “One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.” A big welcome to Ms. Royalty as she embarks on this new journey with us!

We're thrilled to announce that our 5th Region Team for girls and boys basketball has been announced for their outstanding achievements this season! A huge congratulations to Ashlyn Miles, Carlie Thurmond, Leah Macy and Nick Osborne for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship in basketball this season. Your commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, and we're incredibly proud of what you've accomplished. Thank you to all of the coaches in the 5th Region who voted for these outstanding athletes! Keep up the hard work Banshees and Eagles, the post-season is coming right up!

At last weekend's regionals for the Academic Team, Bethlehem's Future Problem Solvers tied for second place and qualified for the State Finals in Louisville on Friday evening, March 8th. Please congratulate juniors Kareena Kaur & Rylie Workman, sophomores Franklin Jardim and PT Minor, and freshman Meredith Dyer on this great achievement. Our team will represent Region 5 along with Bardstown HS and Central Hardin HS. These five scholars shall compete against approximately 100 students out of over 5,000 statewide that began the school year in open competition.

Our girls' soccer team has made history! On Monday afternoon, County Judge Executive Tim Hutchins led a sign dedication ceremony on Highway 245 honoring the State Championship team! We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to these incredible athletes for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. This victory is a testament to their talent and the countless hours they've put into training. Thank you (again) to their coaches, families, and fans for your unwavering support. And to the county, Judge Executive Tim Hutchins and Sheriff Ramon Pineroa, thank you for this amazing opportunity to showcase the championship sign for all of Nelson County to see. We appreciate your unwavering support!

Congratulations to our E-Sports Team who recently won both scrimmages at Bethlehem High School! From left to right in the picture are Ethan Ebelhar, Fred Maldanado, Bill Peterson and Easton Masterson. Fred Maldanado recently had four wins, and Ethan and Bill had one win a piece. Congratulations to all!

Bethlehem High School is excited to nominate freshman Alexis Lanz for the Courier Journal Student of the Week. Alexis is a member of the varsity volleyball team, where she made the All-District team and plays club volleyball for BCVC. She is in the Beta Club, Interact Club, Smile Club, and Flight Club at Bethlehem High School. In addition to her strong participation in athletics and clubs, Alexis is on the All-A Honor Roll. Congratulations to these young ladies who represent us on the Young Women Lead Teen Advisory Council. This Council is made of female teen leaders who are passionate about inspiring their peers to be the next generation of leaders. Meetings are held virtually to allow teens from throughout the country to have their voice heard. These members are volunteer leaders who are passionate about inspiring their peers to be the next generation of women leaders. They take an active leadership role in implementing programs, guiding the content and focus of our events and curriculum, and promoting and advocating for Young Women LEAD in their regions. Congratulations to Finely Stone, Olivia Hamilton and Lily Kremer for taking a role in this great opportunity for female leadership!

Congratulations to Jacob Thornsberry for his athletic signing to play college football at Thomas More University! Jacob has had a stellar football career here at Bethlehem and no doubt he will see the same success at Thomas More! Congrats Jacob!
