Honoring Our Blessed Mother

Students and staff gathered in the cafeteria on Monday to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe with flowers and prayer before school. Catholics celebrate the Virgin Mary's appearance to Juan Diego which occurred in December 1531 in Mexico City. The Virgin arranged flowers in Juan Diego's cloak, and when he opened his cloak later that day the flowers fell to the floor, revealing on the fabric the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
