COLLEGE & SCHOLARSHIP LETTERS - Please turn in copies of all acceptance letters and scholarship offers that you receive to Ms. Koontz, even if you don't plan to attend or accept. We keep track of this information.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
NexGen Women's Scholarship - (Amount to be determined) For a female who demonstrates leadership and initiative. See Ms. Koontz for an application. Deadline: March 13, 2026. (extended to April 27th)
Hagan Scholarship - $15,000 for up to 4 years. Minimum 3.5 gpa, 2024 adjusted gross household income must not exceed $125,000. Free workshops, free brokerage accounts, free study abroad. Deadline: March 15, 2026.
Microsoft Disability Scholarship - $5,000. For students pursuing a degree in the following majors: Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Law, Buesiness or related field-Paralegal, Pre-Law, Finance, Business Administration or Marketing. Minimum 2.5 gpa, must show some need. Deadline: March 16, 2026.
Society for the Prevention of Aggressiveness and Violence Among Adolescents (SPAVA) - $1,000 (for Jefferson County students) Awarded to applicants who work to reduce violence, promote peace and seek to educate those around them. Essay required. Deadline: March 22, 2026.
Nelson County Farm Bureau Scholarship - Giving $20,000 in scholarships. Parents must be a paid member of Nelson County Farm Bureau as of January 1st, 2026. Scholarship amounts vary. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: March 27, 2026.
Tommy Hart Memorial Scholarship - Parents must be a paid member of Nelson County Farm Bureau. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: March 27, 2026.
Concerned Parents of Nelson County Scholarship - ( 2 ) $500. One page essay required. Some need required. See Ms. Koontz for an application. Deadline: March 27, 2026.
American Fuji Seal Scholarship - ( 3 ) $1,000 to local high schools in our area. Minimum 3.0 gpa. Must major in a field that could be associated with the jobs located at American Fuji Seal. See Ms. Koontz for an application. Deadline: March 27, 2026.
KY Federation of Republican Women - $1,500. Open to a senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: March 30, 2026.
2026 Optimist Club of Louisville - $2,500. Short essay is required and a teacher recommendation. Deadline: March 31, 2026.
Roush Scholarship through Abound - ( 8 ) $2,500. Must have a primary savings account with Abound Credit Union. Minimum 3.0 gpa. Deadline: March 31, 2026.
Men's Scholarship - $1,000. Open to any male intending on attending a college or university. Deadline: April 1, 2026.
2026 Next ProLife Generation Legacy Scholarship Oratory & Media/Film Contest - ( 20 ) $ 500 - $1,000. Create a speech why every human life matters! or create a short video or media project. Deadline: April 1, 2026.
KY Manufactured Housing Institute Trade and Apprentice Scholarships - ( 5 ) $1,000. Will be awarded to individuals who are currently attending or will be attending a technical center, trade school, or enrolling in an apprenticeship program centered around the construction industry. Deadline: April 1, 2026.
National Catholic Admissions Association Scholarship - ( 16 ) $1,000. Scholarships given to universities that are part of the National Catholic Association. Easy application. Deadline: April 1, 2026.
Flaget Memorial Hospital Auxiliary - $1,000. Open to seniors going into the medical field. Two letters of recommendation required. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: April 1, 2026.
Hardy Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 (renewable for 4 years). For a graduating senior who has committed to compete in athletics at the collegiate level. (Not receiving full athletic scholarship from academic institution) Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: April 2, 2026.
KY Home Extension Master Gardeners Association - ( 2 ) $1,000 Must be a Nelson County resident majoring in a horticultural field (forestry, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, ecology...) Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: April 3, 2026.
Donate Life Scholarship - $1,000 ( 20 ) Are you passionate about organ donation? This scholarship is for you. Three short essays (200 words). Deadline: April 6, 2026.
Salt River Electric Scholarship - $1,000 ( 2 ) One scholarship for a student planning on pursuing a 4 year college education and one scholarship for someone pursuing a career in the trade or vocational program. Deadline: April 10, 2026.
CHI St. Joseph Health Foundations Academic Scholarships - Several scholarships, up to $5,000. For students interested in the medical profession. Deadline: April 10, 2026.
The Fleck Law - KY Scholarship - $1,000 to someone intending to major in law. 300 word essay required. Deadline: April 15, 2026.
Central Kentuckty Community Action Council - $500 (multiple given). Must meet low-income guidelines. Preference given to seniors going into the field of Social Services, Business, Agriculture, or Education. Minimum 3.0 gpa. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: April 15, 2026.
The Lynn Ledford Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 ( 5 ). For any student who plans on attending college or a trade/vocational school. Sponsored by Town & Country Bank. Deadline: April 19, 2026.
Nelson County Conservation Scholarship - ( 1 ) $2,000 and ( 2 ) $1,000. Must plan on majoring in Agriculture, Natural Resources, or a related field. Application available from Ms. Koontz. Deadline: April 30, 2026.
Cameron Impact Scholarship - (for juniors only) four year, full tuition. Minimum 3.7 cumulative gpa. Two letters of recommendation required. Considering the first 3,000 applicants only. Deadline: May 1, 2026.
Louisville Urban League Scholarships - up to $10,000. One application for several opportunities. Deadline: May 1, 2026.
GE Reagan Workforce Readiness Scholarship - ( 10 ) up to $10,000. For someone going into the fields of avionics mechanic, electrical technician, welding, etc. Deadline: May 1, 2026.
Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship - Covers full tuition and up to $400 in fees per year for certain career choices. Covers up to an associate degree. Will open May 1, 2026.
John and Sue Gompper Founders Scholarship - For a senior who has participated in KY Youth Soccer in the past two years, minimum 3.0 gpa, has not signed to play D1 soccer. Deadline: June 1, 2026.
Raiseme Scholarship - Earn micro-scholarships directly from four-year colleges for your school achievements starting in the 9th grade, all the way through to community college! Deadline varies by school.

KY Work Ready Scholarship - Be enrolled or accepted into an approved program of study that leads to an industry recognized certificate or diploma or Associate of Applied Science degree in a high-demand workforce sector. Qualifying areas are health care, advanced manufacturing, transportation/logistics, business services, IT and construction. Money is given on 1st come, 1st serve basis.

Naval Reserve Officers Training Scholarship - Minimum ACT Score Math 21, English 22,
Fitness Assessment scoresheet. Full tuition plus monthly $250 stipend.

Norton Scholars Program - The Norton Healthcare Scholars Program is a loan forgiveness program that provides educational assistance to students pursuing or continuing a health care-related degree in a specified area of workforce need. The amount of funding received per calendar year is based on the degree program. This is a highly competitive program, and not all candidates will be accepted. Those accepted as a Norton Healthcare Scholar sign a contract agreeing to work for Norton Healthcare upon graduation.
U.S. Army ROTC Scholarship - Minimum 19 on ACT ; 2.5 GPA and meet physical
standards. Full tuition plus monthly stipend.
